A1. Yes! All of our practitioners are Registered Massage Therapists.

Q2. How long have you been practicing as an RMT?

I've dedicated myself to the practice of massage therapy since 2017, embarking on my journey in the serene landscapes of Lake Louise and Banff. In 2018, I continued honing my skills in Bowmanville and Ajax before settling in the welcoming community of Smiths Falls in 2019. It was here that I truly found my professional home. In 2021, I took the leap to establish my independent practice, and by 2022, I proudly inaugurated my own clinic.

Q3. What massage techniques do you typically use?

A3. Our treatments are grounded in the time-tested principles of Swedish Massage Techniques, offering a soothing foundation for relaxation and rejuvenation.
To tackle stubborn areas of tension and discomfort, we integrate cutting-edge sports science methodologies:
Through manual techniques like Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF Stretching), Trigger Point Therapy, Muscle Stripping, and Myofascial Release, along with other specialized sports massage approaches, we address specific problem areas with precision and effectiveness.
In certain cases, we utilize advanced tools to enhance our treatment outcomes, including handheld percussive devices, stainless steel blades (also referred to as IASTM or Graston Technique), or Myofascial Cupping techniques.

Q4. How do you customize treatments for individual clients?

A4. At the onset of each session, clients undergo a comprehensive interview process aimed at understanding their current health status and aspirations. By delving into their past experiences and future objectives, we gain invaluable insights. Armed with this knowledge, we meticulously tailor a personalized treatment plan designed to expedite their journey towards their desired outcomes, ensuring both safety and efficiency every step of the way.

Q5. Will there be an initial assessment before the treatment?

A5. Yes! there is always an Initial Assessment to get a feel for what you need from us.

Q6. Can I communicate my preferences during the massage (e.g., pressure, focus areas)?

A6. Absolutely! Please feel free to voice any discomfort or preferences to your RMT during your session.

Q7. How do you ensure client comfort during the session?
​
A7.​ Ensuring client satisfaction is paramount to us. We maintain an open dialogue throughout to adapt individual treatments and the overall care plan as needed. Every aspect of our approach is meticulously tailored to meet the specific needs and preferences of each client. Your therapist is here to listen and collaborate, ensuring that your experience with us is nothing short of exceptional. Q8. What is the typical duration of a session?
​
A8. At Horizon we offer 3 durations for our massages the first being forty-five minutes, the second being an hour, sixty minutes, and finally our ninety minute option.

Q9. Are there any self-care tips or exercises you recommend between sessions?
​
A9.​ We consistently advocate for quality rest and hydration as essential elements of self-care. As for exercise and stretching, your provider will customize recommendations tailored to your current condition and future objectives.

Q10. What information do you need from me, and how is it stored and protected?
​
A10. To book with us we need your first and last name as well as a phone number and email.
​

Q11. Do you accept insurance, and if so, what information do I need to provide?
​
A11. Yes! we do direct billing to insurance companies. We just need a photo of your insurance card for your policy information.

Q12. What is your policy for canceling or rescheduling appointments?
​
A12. We require 24 hour notice to cancel an appointment.
Any time after that will be charged the cancellation fee. As long as we have availability we will to our best to fit you in at a different time.

Q13. Are there any fees associated with missed appointments?​
​
A13. Yes, our cancelation policy states that any no show or missed appointments will be charged the full fee at the practitioners discretion. The Jane Booking App discloses our full cancelation policy.
